1.1 Unless otherwise specified there is a limit of 20 images which can be entered into the awards per photographer.
1.2 All entries must be submitted digitally on the World Sports Photography website. Email entries will not be accepted.
1.3 No digital files will be returned, but all low-resolution images, apart from those short-listed, will be destroyed after the close of the competition.
1.4 There is no limit to the number of categories an individual entrant can enter.
1.5 Black and White images are acceptable.
1.6 World Sport Photography Awards is open to anyone except those directly or indirectly involved in the organisation of the awards.
1.7 An image will be rejected if, in the opinion of the judges, it appears that the image has been taken in such a way that is unlawful.
1.8 Double exposures and other images that have been manipulated outside of the rules are not eligible.
1.9 There is no fee to enter the World Sports Photography Awards
1.10 Submission of an entry to the contest automatically constitutes the contestant's acceptance of all conditions set forth in the rules and subject to our Terms and Conditions listed on this page.
1.11 The photographers name and the date the image was taken must be added to the metadata of the image
2.1 The panel of Judges will select images based upon technical skill, diversity, originality and creativity of composition.
2.2 Judging is conducted anonymously and impartially.
2.3 Judges will assess entries and a shortlist will be announced following the closing date.
2.4 Shortlisted photographers will be contacted and will then have two weeks to supply a high-res file of the image.
2.5 Failure to send a high-res file within the designated time period may result in elimination from the competition.
2.6 The organisers are not held responsible for any emails that do not arrive to the World Sports PhotographyAwards for reasons outside the organisers control.
2.7 Shortlisted may need to provide an extended caption and other information.
2.8 The winners will be notified by email and a list of the winners will be published on the World Sports Photography Awards website and social media websites.
2.9 The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
3.1 The prizes are as stated on the World Sports Photography Awards website.
3.2 We reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
4.1 By submitting images to the WorldSports Photography Awards, each entrant confirms and warrants that:
4.1.1 They are the sole author of each entry and that it is their original work;
4.1.2 They own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights of each image;
4.1.3 They have not licensed or disposed of any rights in the image that would conflict with uses to be made by World Sports Photography Awards; and
4.2 By entering the competition, you grant World Sports Photography Awards, its sponsors and partners a non-exclusive, irrevocable licence to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit, on any media, the images for any purpose directly connected with the awards.
4.3 This may include, but is not limited to: inclusion in a book of winning and commended images; display at exhibitions; display on a web browser for judging purposes; on the World Sports Photography Awards website and on the websites of sponsors and supporters; on social media used by World Sports Photography Awards, its sponsors and partners; for use in releases to be distributed to international, national, regional and specialist press and other media giving information about or promoting the awards.
4.4 Entrants agree that the organisers can sub-license images to the media for reproduction in connection with the awards only.
4.5 World Sports Photography Awards will make every reasonable effort to ensure that name credits are given to any photograph published in any medium.
4.6 Free usage of any photograph will not be permitted by World Sports Photography Awards, or any of its partners or sponsors outside of the scope of the awards.
4.7 World Sports Photography Awards, or any of its partners or sponsors, do not intend to create a general commercial library of the images entered into these awards.
4.8 Entrants retain the copyright to images submitted.
4.9 Images used on any merchandise commissioned by the organisers will be discussed individually with the photographer concerned and a separate agreement made.
4.10 Finalists may be invited to take part in post awards publicity.
5.1 World Sports Photography Awards reserves the right to remove or refuse any entries from the awards for any reason.
5.2 World Sports Photography Awards reserves the right to reassign image(s) into a different category at any time during the awards campaign.
5.3 Entries will be refused or removed if in the sole judgement of the World Sports Photography Awards they could reasonably be expected to breach or contravene any applicable law or bring the awards, a sponsor, a partner, or the photographer into disrepute. Such entries will be deemed as void.
5.4 The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
5.6 By accepting the Terms & Conditions of the awards and subsequently submitting your images, you have entered into an agreement with the Worlds Sports Photography Awards.
5.7 Once entered, images cannot be withdrawn unless the organisers are notified of a permissions problem, in which case if the organisers are satisfied that there is sufficient evidence to justify withdrawal, the images will be withdrawn.
6.1 The World Sports Photography Awards bears no responsibility for loss, damage or injury incurred as a result of participation and/or involvement in the awards.
7.1 The information given in these Terms and Conditions is correct, but the World Sports Photography Awards reserve the right to change any of it without prior notice.
7.2 By entering the awards, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
7.3 Any breach of these Terms by an entrant will void their entry.
7.4 If a breach has occurred, but is discovered after the award of a prize, then the organisers may require the return of that prize.
