The Awards
The World Sports Photography Awards are intended for professional, semi-professional sport photographers and specialist sports photographic agencies. The awards are free to enter. Each photographer may submit up to 20 high-res images (up to 10MB) taken in the year 2021.

The entry deadline is Friday 6 May 2022 (Midnight PDT).

  1. The Contest begins in December 2020, and ends March 16th 2021, at midnight GMT.
  2. The Awards are open to all semi-professional and professional photographers worldwide.
  3. All entries must be submitted digitally on the World Sports Photography website. Email entries will not be accepted.
  4. Each photographic entry must have been taken between January 1st 1995 and December 31st 2020.
  5. Each entry should specify which of the 28 sports categories it is being submitted for.
  6. A maximum of 20 images can be entered into the awards per photographer.
  1. Entries not complying with the above rules, and/ or the Terms and Conditions of the World Sports Photography Awards will be disqualified.
  2. An image will be rejected if, in the opinion of the judges, it appears to have been taken unlawfully.
  3. Double exposures and other images that have been manipulated outside of the rules are not eligible.
  4. The content of the image must not be altered. Only retouching which conforms to currently accepted standards in the industry is allowed. The WSPA board is the ultimate arbiter of these standards and may at its discretion request the original, un-retouched file as recorded by the camera.
