Liabilities

1.1 The World Sports Photography Awards bears no responsibility for loss, damage or injury incurred as a result of participation and/or involvement in the awards.

Disclaimer

1.2  The information given in these Terms and Conditions is correct, but the World Sports Photography Awards reserve the right to change any of it without prior notice.

1.3 By entering the awards, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

1.4 Any breach of these Terms by an entrant will void their entry.

1.5 If a breach has occurred, but is discovered after the award of a prize, then the organisers may require the return of that prize.

1.6 These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales whose courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the event of any disputes in connection with their subject matter.

Permissions & Copyright

1.7 By submitting images to the World Sports Photography Awards, each entrant confirms and warrants that:
1.7.1 They are the sole author of each entry and that it is their original work;
1.7.2 They own the entire copyright and any other intellectual property rights throughout the world in each image;
1.7.3 They have not licensed or disposed of any rights in the image that could or would conflict with uses authorised under these Terms and Conditions to be made by World Sports Photography Awards; and

1.8 By entering the competition, you grant World Sports Photography Awards, its sponsors, partners and media licensees a non-exclusive, irrevocable licence to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit all submitted images in any media throughout the world at any time hereafter for any purpose directly connected with the awards.

1.9 This may include, but is not limited to: inclusion in a book of winning and commended images; display at exhibitions; display on a web browser for judging purposes; on the World Sports Photography Awards website and on the websites of sponsors and supporters; on free and paid social media used by World Sports Photography Awards, its sponsors and partners; for use in releases to be distributed to international, national, regional and specialist press and other media reporting, giving information about or promoting the awards

1.10 This may include, but is not limited to: inclusion in a book of winning and commended images; display at exhibitions; display on a web browser for judging purposes; on the World Sports Photography Awards website and on the websites of sponsors and supporters; on free and paid social media used by World Sports Photography Awards, its sponsors and partners; for use in releases to be distributed to international, national, regional and specialist press and other media reporting, giving information about or promoting the awards

1.11 Entrants agree that the organisers can sub-license images to the media for reproduction in connection with the awards only, including in editorial content and in advertising or promotional content funded by World Sports Photography Awards or its partners or sponsors. Organisers may also sub-license the images, in connection with the awards only, for editorial use in books and films, in any sponsor funded video content and in advertising in all media including without limitation print, television and Out of Home media.

1.12 World Sports Photography Awards will make every reasonable effort to ensure that name credits are given to any photograph published in any medium.

1.13 No payment shall be due to entrants in respect of any use of their images authorised by these Terms and Conditions.

1.14 World Sports Photography Awards may retain all images in its own internal archive(s) for possible future use solely for purposes authorised by these Terms and Conditions.

1.15 Entrants retain the copyright to images submitted.

1.16 Images to be used in any other manner including on any merchandise commissioned by the organisers will be discussed individually with the photographer concerned and a separate agreement made.

1.17 Finalists may be invited to take part in post awards publicity.

3. Using your personal data

3.1 Personal data submitted on this website will be used for the purposes specified in this privacy policy or in relevant parts of the website.

3.2.1 Administer the website;
3.2.2 Improve your browsing experience by personalising the website;
3.2.3 Enable your use of the services available on the website;
3.2.4 Use in the management of the awards, and to contact you in connection with your entries in the awards.
3.2.5 Provide third parties with statistical information about our users – but this information will not be used to identify any individual user;
3.2.6 Deal with enquiries and complaints made by or about you relating to the website

3.3 You can additionally opt for us to send to you our newsletter and other communications relating to our business which we think may be of interest to you (you can inform us at any time if you no longer require marketing communications). It is not necessary to subscribe to the competition newsletter to enter the competition.

3.4 Where you submit personal information, including photographs, for use in connection with the awards and inclusion on our website, we will publish and otherwise use that information in accordance with the agreement you make with us. We will not without your express consent provide your personal information to any third parties for the purpose of direct marketing.

We may disclose information about you to any of our employees, officers, agents, suppliers, sponsors or subcontractors insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes as set out in this policy.

In addition, we may disclose information about you:

4.1 To the extent that we are required to do so by law;

4.2 In connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings;

4.3 In order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk); and

8.3 You will not be able to participate in the competition unless you consent to us processing your personal data.

8.4 You may instruct us not to process your personal data at any time. You may instruct us to delete your account and any personal information we hold about you.

10. Updating information

Who are the World Sports Photography Awards for?

The World Sports Photography Awards are intended for professional, semi-professional sport photographers and specialist sports photographic agencies.

Who can enter?

Professional, semi-professional sport photographers and specialist sports photographic agencies from all over the world can enter the awards.

There is a total of 25 categories that you can select from:

How many photographs can I enter?

You can enter up to 20 images spread across all of the award categories.

What is the entry process?

To start your entry click on the "Enter Now" button in the navigation. Your entry will be in three steps; first you will be asked to enter a couple personal information. Then you will have a chance to enter links to your social platforms.

Finally you will be asked to upload your image one by one, and providing a name and category for each of them. You can upload a low resolution version of your image to
fit the 10mb maximum upload.

Once your entry has been submitted, you will receive an email confirming that
we have received it.

What is the entry deadline?

The deadline to enter is TBC.

How much is it to enter?

The World Sports Photography Awards are free to enter.

What is the shortlisting process?

When the entry process is closed, a panel of judges will select images based upon technical skill, diversity, originality and creativity of composition. A shortlist will be announced once they have made their decision.

When will the shortlist be announced?

The shortlist will be announced in TBC.

Who decides the finalists and winners?

The winners will be decided by our panel of expert judges, see the judges page for more details.

How will the entries be judged?

Judging is conducted anonymously and impartially. Winning entries will be those which, in the opinion and sole discretion of the panel of judges, best meet the judging criteria. We have a large pool of varied professionals within the judging panel to avoid bias. Any judge, with any personal interest or in any way related to a category will not be able to cast a vote for that category. The judges’ decisions shall be final and binding in all respects on all entrants. No correspondence will be entered into.

Who is the World Sports Photography Awards organised by?

The World Sports Photography Awards are administered and organised by World Sports Photography Awards Ltd.

Award Policies

1.18 World Sports Photography Awards reserves the right to remove or refuse any entries from the awards for any reason.

1.19 World Sports Photography Awards reserves the right to reassign image(s) into a different category at any time during the awards campaign.

1.20 Entries will be refused or removed if in the sole judgement of the World Sports Photography Awards they could reasonably be expected to breach or contravene any applicable law or bring the awards, a sponsor, a partner, or the photographer into disrepute. Such entries will be deemed as void.

1.21 The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

1.22 The World Sports Photography Awards' web Privacy Policy applies to the awards and to the use of the website.

1.23 By accepting the Terms & Conditions of the awards and subsequently submitting your images, you have entered into a legally binding agreement with World Sports Photography Awards.

1.24 Once entered, images cannot be withdrawn unless the organisers are notified of a permissions problem, in which case if the organisers are satisfied that there is sufficient evidence to justify withdrawal, the images will be withdrawn.
